I have included the games below just for example purposes today, I realised that I need to narrow the selections down to around fithteen maximum per day! System 2. Lay the Draw; Providing the odds for the draw are no bigger than 3/1. So using the selections below we back the team in Blue (selection) and lay the draw. eg; 2.2 Ross County 3.7 Raith Rovers 2.8 Scotland; we back Raith Rovers and lay the draw as the odds for the draw are under 3/1. Possible outcomes Ross County win; we lose nothing. Raith Rovers win; 1 point for lay bet and a further 1.8 Points for the win bet. Total 2.8 points profit The match is a Draw; Bad news we lose 2.7 points as the match is a draw and a further 1 point as our win bet lost to. Total lost 3.7 points. Any games which fall outside the criteria are just strait win bets eg; 3.7 BFC Siofok 4.0 MTK Hungaria 1.86 Hungary (draw odds are to high). Teams in red are team to be layed to lose only eg; 1.7 AZ Alkmaar v Roda; Holland There are certain games where Betfair are unavailable Belarus league comes to mind and of course the availability of odds on some games that they do cover; a problem to solve for the future should this thread become a success. History is no guide to the future and I will not bore you with the last twelve month results; there are losing day's/weeks sometimes the losses are on the large size but the winning day's far exceed the losing ones; well so far! I have also started this year running two more system alongside the above using the same selections. System 1. Simply laying against my selections for one point providing the odds are below 2/1 eg; 2.2 Ross County 3.7 Raith Rovers 2.8 Scotland. Ross County are below 2/1 so we just lay them. Any teams that are above 2/1 the bet becomes a simple win bet again System 3. Same as system one but also back our selection using the same example again 2.2 Ross County 3.7 Raith Rovers 2.8 Scotland. Lay Ross County and back Raith Rovers. I did mention it was all a little complicated ;) bare with for now. Though I use the heading "system" (I haven't found a better name!) I choose the selections myself as you can see i trawl all over Europe and it very time consuming but I hope I can bring something novel to the forum and above all else; profitable! I will also post my Main Bets (these are easy to follow ;)) - none today though Lokomotiv Sofia nearly made it; odds just to short. At one point I was looking at a 9point loss on System 2, My English and Scottish selections letting me down with only one out of seven (Stranraer) winning and they left it to the 90min! Talking of the Stranraer match; the odds of the draw dropped below 3/1 though the odds on Queens Park moved out above the 2/1 limit. No gain made overall what I gained on one result I lost on the other (hope that makes sense) I made a mistake by not including the odds for my selections against the four teams that I layed; Kayserispor 2.5 and Roda 6.5 both won, needed for System 3. The odds that I have recorded on my selections are average odds only taken from oddsportal.com; I know I could achieve far better odds but for recording these results I will use average odds, apart from my Main Bets Sorry for the way I have produced these results I have only limited knowledge on formatting I need that Muppet man for some advice on how to transfer from spread sheets! Worst case we lose two points if Benfica win. Only other game of notice tonight was Middlesbrough v Burnley; with Burnley being the selection but the 9/4 on offer is to skinney. As for the other games; these are my pedictions for what they are worth Manchester United v Rangers - Home win but not by the margin some are suggesting; Rangers may steal a draw! FC København v Rubin Kazan - Have to fancy Rubin but a draw looks likely as København will be hard to beat at home Lyon v Schalke 04 - Both teams out of form; Choice probably a draw but Schalke odds over 3/1 maybe be the value Bursaspor v Valencia - I would lay Velencia Twente v Inter - Two hard to predict Barcelona v Panathinaikos - They may well bounce back big time but I would lay Barcelona with a view to trading out! Cavendish Posted September 28, 2010 Author Share Posted September 28, 2010 Re: System 2 Lay the draw Good Champion League action tonight; I won't be posting any selections as the value has gone, I would have taken on Chelsea at 1/4on but there price has now drifted around 1/2. Though Zilna have gone a goal down as I write (half-time) I still fancy them to get something in Moscow. I do fancy Shakhtar away at Braga but the 2/1 on offer is not big enough for me (5/2 more like). Would have also taken on Arsenal 1/2 but now are looking near value at 4/5, hard game to call. Only other game that appeals is Madrid to keep a clean sheet. As for the English domestic Watford 6/4 Ipswich 5/2 and Huddersfield 6/4 are appealing but no bets for me tonight. Have my eye on two for tomorrow nights Champion League action Bursaspor 3/1 to win at Rangers and H. Tel Aviv (handicap) against a out of form Lyon. I will improve with this over time; will try and update results on a weekly basis thus not having to produce the whole month’s results as the edited posts! Note Table 1.This has the total staked for the month of September with a combined R.O.I of 12.7% not bad; but now go to Table 2 and with our void bets returned our combined R.O.I now shows a healthy 19.7%. This is where the two systems turn a mediocre R.O.I into a decent R.O.I, early days yet but going on past results I see no reason why the past cannot be repeated. Hopefully my main bets will see better days! Having said that I have missed a few (a couple I have placed money on, one occasion I forgot! Borac Banjaluka - Bosnia 2.8 (Sportingbet) 1 pt, had no time to post Plzen - Czech 2.55 (StanJames) 2pt) those two bets alone would now be showing me a profit of 4 pts and a R.O.I of 44%. System 1 you may have noticed has slipped off the radar; I intend to use System 1 for lay bets only. The reason for this; as it stands any lay bets I post, automatically count in both systems and to be honest some lay bets carry a higher risk and I do not want to be placing a lay bet on a odds on chance and backing against as well.Will consider my options on the lay bets, I could place them in all three systems but then face a hefty loss should the result go against me; though the returns could well out perform the losses.
