15:30 Beverley Bullet Ultra competitive 5f race as you'd expect for a listed contest, and the highlight of Beverley's season. One run that stood out for me in last years contest was that of Noble Storm, who is my selection for this years renewal. Noble Storm ran an absolute blinder last year, looking all over the winner with 1f left, but emptied out and eventually finished fourth. Was given an extremely positive ride that day, and probably won't receive such a enterprising ride today, especially with the abundance of pace within this race. Since that race, has finished behind a few of his rivals today, including Spin Cycle, where he was just headed in the final few yards, they both ran well that day, and wouldn't be surprised if that form was reversed. More recently, he was comprehensively beaten by possible favourite Masta Plasta. The Nicholls team are masters with their sprinters, and on the bare form, Noble Storm looks to have a little bit to do. However, Noble Storm was returning from a break, and was given a very easy time of it in that Conditions race, only a few slaps on the shoulder, and was hardly pushed out. Masta Plasta was given the kitchen sink. Other dangers include the unpredictable Mister Hughie, who will come home very late, but there are too many questions regarding whether the track will give him enough room to get a run, and the unexposed Burning Thread, who has beaten everything before him. However, the form of his listed win could hardly work out much worse. Noble Storm looks prepped for this race, and with the success of the Ed McMahon stable this season, I'm fairly confident this race was always the plan. Think he will outrun his performance of last year, especially given a more patient ride, and could definitely win this. The price of 10/1 currently is far too big, and I expect him to go off at around 6/1 or less, so taking the price now. 1pt EW @ 10/1 Bet365 BOG

Re: Beverley 28/08 15:30 Beverley This listed sprint race looks wide open and I have enjoyed getting my teeth stuck into this. Three year olds hold a decent enough record in this race with the last 3 winners all being aged 3 and I am hopeful that trend continues as I am siding with one of the three 3 year olds that line up today. My selection lies with Burning Thread who already has a course and distance win to his name. This was just a minor event but he got the job done in good enough fashion winning by 2 lengths. He has since followed that up with one run which was a win in listed company at Sandown. Made all that day and stayed on gamely when asked to do so inside the final furlong. Has had a nice break since then (77 days) so should be fit and ready for this race. I believe he is still on the upgrade and can overcome a low draw today to land this prize. Trainer has 2 winners from 3 at the track this season and Dale Swift, who takes the ride today, was on board both those winners so the combo are 2/2 at the track in 2010. The young jockey has been having a fantastic season with 24 winners, 4 of which have been at this track from 8 rides here which is a fantastic record. 0.75pts E/W Burning Thread @ 11/1 (Stan James - BOG)
