Spooner
Re: Newmarket - Saturday 7th August 15:10 - Gallagher @ 16/1 Bet365 Kind of been ignoring this one's form as his been given no chance by the handicapper but is being eased now and ran a good race lto, no claimer on board today but think he may enjoy the soft ground so could get reward. TheRat
Re: Newmarket - Saturday 7th August 3.10 Eton Rifles EW 18/1 Bet 365 Similar reasoning to the picks at Haydock. This one should love the cut and I really don't think many of them will here. Disappointed LTO when favourite but ground may have been too quick. Never out of the placings in ground good-soft or softer, won at this level, won off a 1llb lower mark and can go close today.
chris34
Re: Newmarket - Saturday 7th August 2.05 Newmarket Rumble of Thunder was fairly useful last year but took a step backwards this season under some awful rides but bounced right back to his best last time out, when meeting some traffic problems when staying for a good second in a competitive handicap at sandown, cut in the ground should help his case and Dwyer keeps the ride today. The go dolphin runner is for sure an interesting one but at 2/1 for beating very little last time out on handicap debut (3 runner handicap) is defenetily not for me! 0.5pt e/w rumble of thunder 7/1 sj 5.25 Newmarket Flapper isnt without hope again today, she ran in a much better race last time out and should find this easier! She is also dropped another 1lb in the handicap and has run well here before including winning this race last year, could get an easy time up front which is vital and could see her go clear this time. Ground with some cut is also not a problem! 0.5pt e/w flapper 12/1 sj
Stevet1859
Re: Newmarket - Saturday 7th August 3:10 Newmarket: Eton Rifles 1pt e/w 18/1 William Hill & Sunraider 1pt win 9/2 Betfred Its hard to explain Eton Rifles run last time at Newcastle as he conditions in his favour there, however, put that aside and he goes well on these underfoot conditions and looks capable of winning of this sort of mark. Sunraider may have finished closer with a better run at York. Previous run at Haydock looked very good and he too handles the softer going. Looks a solid favourite. diamond1924
Re: Newmarket - Saturday 7th August After pulling all of his horses out of Dandy Nicholls stable at the start of the season, owner Marman Koukash has suddenly moved Redford from Kevin Ryan to Nicholls. That leaves another intangible over the race but he does have a CD win in conditions. I wouldn't back him on this season's form but on a good mark. diamond1924
Re: Newmarket - Saturday 7th August I'm a litte intrigues with Titan Triumph in the 310 too, horse will have a featherweight to carry with promising young claimer Harry Bentley taking 7lbs off of the bottom weight. maybe one for a small place bet
Stevet1859
Re: Newmarket - Saturday 7th August 2:05 Newmarket: Spanish Duke 2pts win 9/1 & Rumble of Thunder 1pt win 7/1 Both Stan James Spanish Duke is lightly raced and he put up a good performance to win in May at Salisbury on good to soft over this distance. He stepped up a couple of furlongs at Musselburgh in a race won by Harris Tweed. That may have been too far yet he ran respectably, dropping back in distance today, could go well again. Rumble of Thunder ran well last time at Sandown without much luck. He had previously performed well on the similar contours of the Rowley mile course, and has won on good to soft. Tedthewolf
Re: Newmarket - Saturday 7th August 3.10 With very few of these shown any form on the soft going it has to be ETON RIFLES 18/1 BET365 E/W. Trainer in good enough form and the very useful Tom Eaves on top looks to have a strong e/w chance. Also will have a tiny e/w bet on VIVA VETTORI 40 SJ who is trying the trip for the 1st time and ran ok on soft at Newmarket on debut although that was three years ago! Redoubtable
Re: Newmarket - Saturday 7th August N 2.35 Fork Handles Fork Handles has form to compare well with any of her opponents in this race having finished strongly to take fouth place in a listed race at Sandown last time. She got upset in the stalls and started slowly, and as a result she was always behind Crying Lightening whom she faces again today. Given a better start she can make up the 2 lengths that separated them and make a strong challenge for victory. The 18/1 guaranteed at bet365 is a huge price. Falbrav
Re: Newmarket - Saturday 7th August RUMBLE OF THUNDER 2.05 Newmarket. 1 point win. Seems to find 1 pr 2 too good, too often, but appears genuine enough and has the assistance of a bang in form Martin Dwyer. The weights give him claims and the trip and ground's suitbale, so should run his race and therefore go close. I'll take the 7/1 with Stan James. Falbrav
Re: Newmarket - Saturday 7th August ABTASAAMAH 3.45 Newmarket. Place Lay. Debutant for Godolphin and on breeding you couldn't oppose him with confidence. However, stable debutants have hardly been setting the world on fire and with hearing of several in the race expected to go well and show decent ability, the value's in the place market at a current 10/11. So, irrespective of the end result, a place lay is the call.
