Re: Thirsk - Saturday 31st July 3.25 Thirsk - Smalljohn - 7/1 Bet365 E/W Tricky race and a case can be made for a few of them. A lot of hold up or start slowly horses in the field and not many that are confirmed front runners. Call To Arms and High Rolling are possibilities but the most likely is this one and from a good draw. He's still quite lightly raced in 3 year old plus races on turf so improvement could still be there. Hasnt ran a bad race on turf so far this year and is stepped up an extra furlong, he's prone to getting slightly outpaced a furlong or 2 out so i think this may help. He's won off 68 on the a.w and is off 72 today with a 7lb claimer so handicap mark looks fair. Goes on good to firm ground and trainer is having a great year. Will save on Daring Dream and also Chief Red Cloud who i think has had excuses last 2 starts and may appreciate being covered up which should happen today.
