I'm going to Perth Tuesday night, wife booked hotel for the night:loon and pre race meal at track as part of my 40th pressy. Looks a pretty low calibre meeting but a few chances for my fav jockey Graham Lee, and Gordon Elliot sends a few over too. Deckie Johnston is up too riding a few of Tim Vaughan's, and a plethora of Irish entries as usual. Anyone got some specific thoughts? 1st race: 20f maiden hurdle, Looks a shoe-in for Elliot's SYMPONICA at skinny odds. The 20f will likely stretch the Tim Vaughan runner Gulf President. If 8 runners stay in, I might get some e/w value from SRB Crawford's Float my Boat who is a point winner but making hurdles debut under rules. 2nd race: 20f Novice handicap chase, I might take on the market leaders who all look very questionable. I quite fancy an e/w at decent odds with STROBE who is well in on his hurdle rating but has a bleak record over fences with too much alphabet. Trainer LB Normile however goes with a trusted experienced jockey this time in James McCarthy who knows the horse and I hope this works the oracle. 3rd race: 20f selling h/c hurdle. Terrible looking race, I'm hoping Graham Lee can help me out here on Martin Todhunter's Bronx Boy, but unless someone can unlock this race for me it's minimum bet on blind faith. Tim Vaughan has a new recruit in Lords Bridge but previous form is hard to find and projected sp of 7/4 is skinny considering... 4th race: 3m h/c hurdle. Again, Tim Vaughan has the favourite and it's another newbie with little to go by. Graham Lee is back on McBratney's Dark Halo but he hardly screams "winner", and the Elliot raider, Supercede, is new to him too, has been out since last winter, and was novice chasing. I'll probably just have to either follow the money, paddock pick, or pin in the paper. 5th race: 3m h/c chase. I've been through the field using my own 3m+ h/c chase filters that I've stuck with for a few years, and will got with top weight MIZEN RAVEN who makes the journey up from Wales for Peter Bowen and Donal Devereux(3). Last race: 2m h/c hurdle: Gordon Elliot's Shopfrontspecialist will be the warm order again at skinny odds but I may take him on with Jewelled Dagger for JollyJim Goldie and Graham Lee depending on odds and a look in the paddock. Any help folks?

Re: Perth (eve) - Tuesday 27th July 21:10 - Inner Voice (EW) @ 25/1 Paddy Power Would not rule this one out even though recent form has not been much, has had some help from the handicapper and useful 7lb claimer on board, could surprise in the last.
