N Abbot 18th July

Recommended Posts

15:30 - Theres No Panic LAY @ 3.90 Betfair Scored easily enough in an amateur riders handicap two races ago but was well held lto off same mark so hard to fancy on that basis. Fancy one of the other runners to go better than Nicholls' is.

Re: N Abbot 18th July Going for mainly bigger prices today, based on trainer stats. Think a few of these are overpriced. 14:30 Newton Abbott Lady Hetherington unseated the rider at her first attempt at jumping a fence, but may outrun those odds today. Was a 54 rated flat horse but on her last run on the level, looked like hurdling would be her forte. Was a massive price on debut, and as mentioned earlier unshipped her 10lb claimer with a poor first jump. Looks to have no chance on form, but her trainer stats are very interesting. G.Brown has had 7 runners at Newton Abbott, and two have won. And when teaming up with Eamon Dehdastil at this course, they have a 1/1 record. At odds of 50/1 with the BOG bookmakers, worth a small stake. 0.1pt EW @ 50/1 Bet365 BOG 16:05 Newton Abbott Oamuru Stone is drifting with some bookmakers but that shouldn't be too much of a worry at this stage, as money may come in late. This gelding by Presenting has finished second on his last two runs. Was beaten by 8 lengths on last start but his previous run, he got a lot closer. Still very unexposed over fences compared to some of the other runners in this race, and the trainer excels at this track. Is now just about value. 0.5pt EW @ 6/1 Victor Chandler BOG 16:35 Newton Abbott Lomitaar was quite promising when running in bumpers but hasn't taken to hurdles so far, but has had a break of 101 days since then and perhaps he has learnt how to handle the hurdling game better, and may run well today. Placed twice when running in NHF races, staying on well on his last start in that sphere. Looked very inexperienced when jumping fences for the first time however, finishing 129l behind on his hurdle debut, and pulling up last time out. Perhaps needing them runs as he hadn't run for a year before his hurdle debut. May now be refreshed, and the Newcombe yard have a fantastic record here of 4/18 (22.2%) and when they team up with Andrew Tinkler at the track, the record is 1/2 (50%). Has had a bit of money about for it, shortening from 80's to 33's with some bookmakers so will take the price now. 0.3pts EW @ 66/1 Bet365 BOG
