Monkton Vale was disappointing lto and although expected to run alot better today he'll do well to win. His threatened to win a race once, when beating a neck at York, that form doesn't look anything good with the other four runners in the race all well beat next time out and have been from there after. Given the horse is 1lb higher now than when posting that 2nd at York (although 3lb lower than lto) I think he'll find it very tough to win, as I said, Sadlers Mark should fair better and there are a couple fto in handicap company. If this one is trained and ridden by a lesser partnership, I don't think we'd be seeing a price such as this.

Re: Pontefract 6th July gl spooner 4.00 Pontefract Just lille 1pt ew 11-1 off chance 16-1 0.5pt win Just lille ran 2nd in this last year,and a similar run should see it go very close here,at home at any distance from 8f to 15f,its style is to make all and this promient racer could be hard to peg back..has put in three fantastic speed numbers since it has had the visor applied,acts on any ground and has fantastic record when run at a mile...the hope is it can get out and lead and try to lead the whole way and take the prize..Not drawn great in 7,but last years winner won from stall 9..In the 14 races over C&D with 10 runners,3 winners have come from low stalls 1&2 but 3 winners have also come from stall 7...9 Places have come from stall 1,7 from stall 2 and 8 from stall 7...Coincidence?? In stall 1 is Tropical Paradise,Stall 2 off chance and stall 7 Just lille..Just lille will try to make all from 7 and off chance could nick it on the line hence the saver..The fav will be hard to beat but off chance beat it in may on similar terms..

Re: Pontefract 6th July 2.30 Pontefract ALFRAAMSEY - makes his handicap debut in this nursery here, trainer Mick Channon has a 20 % strike rate with his 2 yo at the track and did well in nurseries last season. Horse is more exposed than some but comes into the race better than most. Probably only has the Fahey favourite to beat. He might look shoe in under a penno but 2/5 is very short. 13/2 Hills, 1 pt win.

Re: Pontefract 6th July 3.00 Ponte Jackson might be a tad overpriced, Guest does well with these sort of runners coming from abroad, he was a classy horse in his younger days winning a grade 2 in brazil, was 2nd on last start in abu dubhai runs off 5lb lower mark today, its interesting they dont try AW with him again considering he is rated 20lb lower on the AW 0.25pt e/w jackson 18/1 VCBet 4.30 Ponte Several in form sorts and several speedy sorts who could set this up for a finisher BUT if Tangerine Trees can get to the front he could be hard to catch I still have him well handicapped as a progressive tough gelding at the age of 5. Up just 4lb for latest win and drawn well to make most of his speed. 0.5pt e/w tangerine trees 5/1 Hills
