A case can be made for several horses in the race in what looks a wide open contest. The high draws tend to be favourable so it may be a bit of a shock that I am going for Step It Up who is running from stall 1. That is possibly the worst draw according to the bias but it seems as if the bias is not so strong in firm conditions and I believe that the horse would be a lot shorter in the market with a better draw so I am willing to take the risk. The horse is a real sprint specialist having notched up 6 wins over 5 furlongs including one win over course and distance. He ran out a 1 and a half length winner last season in a class 5 handicap here off a mark of 63. Has gone in twice since, once on the AW off a mark of 70 and more recently won on his penultimate start at Warwick off a mark of 68. Raised 3lbs for that so will take a career best off a mark of 71 albeit he is only 1lb higher than his win at Lingfield. His last run off todays mark can be forgiven as he had a bad draw that day and although he has a bad draw today I am confident he can sneak into the places at the very least. Has yet to win in this grade but his record in class 4 races reads 243445 which is fairly consistent.
