Lingfield - Sat 8th May

Recommended Posts

I noticed this today and it is worth heeding that on the turf track at Lingfield there is a big bias towards horses drawn high on the stands side rail. Horses that could get to that side quickly dominated proceedings today. Although this bias is for races up to 7F. Todays results: 1.35 7F - 1 Mutafajer 6/5F Led and grabbed stands' rail, overall leader until headed over 5f out, led again over 1f out, drew clear final furlong, comfortably (op 11-8 tchd 6-4) 2 Ocean Rosie 33/1 3 Danehill Sunset 9/4 2.05 5F - 1 Roche Des Vents 11/2 Broke well and soon grabbed stands' rail, made all, soon clear, ridden over 1f out, joined inside final furlong, found extra and asserted towards finish (op 8-1) 2 Leiba Leiba 5/4F 3 Alfraamsey 15/8 2.35 7F - 1 Cansili Star EvensF Made all against stands' rail, pushed clear over 1f out, very easily (op 11-8) 2 Sheer Force 13/2 3 Tap Dance Way 20/1 3.05 7F - 1 Tell Halaf 11/4F In touch, ridden and effort entering final 2f, strong challenge and driven 1f out, led well inside final furlong, ran on well (op 7-2) 2 Duster 6/1 3 Kilt Rock 9/1 3.45 5F - 1 Rocker 3/1F Raced in midfield, switched off of rail and headway over 1f out, ridden to challenge 1f out, pushed ahead inside final furlong, kept on (op 11-4 tchd 10-3) 2 Taurus Twins 11/2 Broke well and crossed to lead on stands' rail, ridden over 1f out, driven and headed inside final furlong, kept on towards finish but always held (op 5-1) 3 Love You Louis 100/30 Chased leader on stands' rail, pulled off of rail and ridden to press leader over 1f out, keeping on same pace when short of room inside final furlong, well held after (op 3-1 tchd 11-4) Checking back through the last few turf meetings here also shows this bias in a big light! :ok

Re: Lingfield - Sat 8th May 2.10 - Mosqueras Romance EW @10.00 Ladbrokes The forecast favourite here has the worst of the draw and is a hold up horse and judging by the track here it would have to be something seriously special to overcome it. Mosqueras Romance has been running on the AW tracks and has been knocking on the door over further with it's front running style. It goes a furlong less today and has a handy draw in 5 which should allow it to cross over and grab the stands side rail because the other runners in the field are generally hold up performers. 4.55 - Alice Alleyne EW @6.50 William Hill This race will show in it's true light the effect of the high stall bias! Alice Alleyne is drawn next best in 17 in this 18 runner field and proved last time out at Wolverhampton on the AW it has the speed to make good use of this draw. It broke well and made all for a comfortable 1 1/4 lengths success over this trip. Trained by Stoute who is starting to hit form with a a five timer yesterday! :ok
