Chester 5/5/10

Re: Chester 5/5/10 2.45 Chester Always a hard handicap to win with many mixing jumps with flat and also many having there first run of the season or first try at this trip. I have wittled my list down to 3 or 4, but I am actually crossing one off at the last minute so I hope I dont regret that Red Cadeux won nicely last time out at Lingfield beating subsequent winners in 2nd and 3rd in Tinaar winning at HQ nicely at the weekend and Illustrious blue winning a group 3 my concern is ground he has been kept to soft ground mainly and best form on turf is on soft ground and on the AW over shorter trips. Majestic Concorde is useful both on the flat and over the jumps last seen winning a chase over 200 days ago yard is in good form and wouldnt appear to be handicapped out of things with a 3rd off a mark of 97 at the curragh now rated just 99 and with yard flying could be a lively danger from a plum draw in stall 1. Mamlook is lightly raced on the flat recent years but was second to Darley Sun in Cesarewitch whe last seen on the flat up 7lb for that effort which could be a little harsh but ran with credit over hurdles during the winter and although little disappointing last time out a switch to flat could be whats needed, drawn stall 5. Bernie The Bolt was a lot shorter than his current odds simply because of his draw but he is clearly unexposed and potentially well ahead of the handicapper which could compensate for the bad draw although he does come from behind so might not be so hard done by, beating alanbrooke by 4.5 lengths when last seen at HQ last year running 4lb out of the handicap, up 8lb and still lightly raced and open to plenty more yet for a yard going well currently. 0.25pt e/w bernie the bolt 9/1 bet365 0.25pt e/w Mamlook 9/1 sj 0.25pt e/w majestic concorde 11/1 sj 3.15 Chester Tough looking big sprint handicap and one I wont be playing heavy with only 3 places up for grabs so go for the win only. Hamish Mcgonagall who often goes well at the beginning of the season and although didnt win last year posted plenty of good efforts and looks potentially well treated and shaped well on seasonal reappearance and should come on for the run and runs off same mark. The other interesting runner is Green Manalishi who was given a shocking ride at Dundalk when last seen and might be worth forgetting about, he looks well handicapped having finished second on penultimate start in listed event over 6f on the AW, and also won a handicap over 5f at beginning of winter off a mark of 100 rated now 95 back on turf and could capatilise on that mark from a low draw. 0.25pt win green manalishi 7/1 pp 0.25pt win Hamish Mcgonnagall 5/1 bet365
