Folkestone 29th April

Recommended Posts

3.10 Folkestone Cornus should take some beating in this handicap, running off bottom weight and only 4lb higher mark than win last week having beat Mr Wolf confidently both times and is probably worth more than the winning margin with his come from behind tactics and For Life should set this up for a finisher, he is well handicapped on old for although not getting any younger but wins off 75+ and now running off 66 and Cannon taking a further handy 5lb off. 1pt win cornus 5.10 Folkestone Charlie Smirke has always offered plenty of encouragement that he could be a useful sort but failed to go past several times but has recently got his act together at lingfield over a mile and this step back up in trip didnt ought to inconvenience him has ran over this trip well enough in maidens on aw, concern over whether he is as good on turf is yet to be seen but if he can act on turf he gets to race off a 4lb lower mark than his win on the aw. Hughes a strong booking. 1pt win charlie smirke 5/2 pp

Re: Folkestone 29th April Not very nice to see a capable jockey like Seb Sanders doing work on donkeys today, but he might have a chance for a win in the first race of the day. Although running very green on the steep downhill in Brighton, Suzy Alexander showed some scope and ability and the drop to the minimum trip should suit. Moreover Sanders was on the odds-on winner at Brighton and was pressed hard by Suzy Alexander until the final 100 yards. He should have seen some room for progress to partner her in today's race. Main danger is Itwasonlyakiss. Trainer J W Hills goes back to the regular pilot Michael Hills after a season's debut to forget when Fallon was on board. I would like to see some pace in this race and maybe Suzy Alexander will do the magic trick. Suzy Alexander - 2 pts to win no luck ... a NR then the second best - Itwasonlyakiss.
