(I'll change the thread title in May :eyes) I've started, this turf season, speed rating flat races. As I am just setting out on the venture I am only recording my 2yr old results - older horses I will be missing x amount of years worth of figures, hence why I am concentrating solely on 2yr olds. I don't envisage having any bets arise from my ratings for a good few weeks yet - until we start to get fields where all the runners have raced - but I am hoping I am able to maybe identify some above average performances for future better class 2yr old races, and hopefully give myself an advantage by the time the Nursery races begin. I'll aim to get my ratings the night before any 2yr old races from here on, and hope they make us a bit of money in 2010 :hope

Not to mention my doubts surrounding my rating of Imperial Waltzer's performance on debut - the evidence suggests there was quite a strong tailwind up the home straight at Folkestone, which increased during the course of the afternoon thus penalising the performances of those who raced earlier on the card (the 2yo race was the first race). There was always the fact that the later races on the card weren't stalls-started so another anomaly for the ratings recorded.
