Curragh Sunday 21st

Only a wee bit excited :nana:nana:nana:nana:nana:nana:nana:nana Ok so not a big fan of irish racing when things get hot in summer but they dont half put on some cracking races and would love to start cracking a few this year! 2.15 Curragh Interesting to see Dascombe bring a runner for the maiden race (probably a travelling companion for his latter runner in the group 3 race but why not bring a handicapper over??) He obviously thinks it is ahead and fired up for the first 2yr old race of the year and is worth a small interest in this. Blood lines suggest sprinting trip not ideal although is entered for Newbury Super Sprint so clearly shown sprinting attitude! 0.25pt e/w Julius Geezer 3.20 Curragh Six of hearts was extremely well backed on seasonal reappearance at kempton in a listed affair and wasnt disgraced but clearly needed a run as went on to win a handicap off a 2lb lower mark last time out at Dundalk, would need a career best now and yet to win over this course or this trip is the concern. Sioduil is a consistent sort but worries about going fresh may need the run. The tooth fairy is a horse I have backed many atime but is perhaps in the hands of the handicapper right now although could come on for the run last week at dundalk also jockey has previously got on well with him. Zorija Rose was 3rd to the tooth fairy when last seen and is on 12lb better terms today concern over why he has been off the track so long and will certainly appreciate any rain. Le Cadre Noir could be well handicapped off the back of some poor runs in listed company last twice but was previously running with credit and is 6lb better off than when 2nd in only handicap start but concerns over ground would perhaps prefer drier ground. And finally that leaves the infamous partnership of Aga Khan and Oxx with the unexposed Zaralanta ran away with a strong CD maiden on soft ground on first start and wasnt disgraced in listed company last time out and should have a chance off a mark like this on handicap debut (likely to be short because of the silks!) 0.25pt e/w Zaralanta (if 4/1 or more if not 0.5pt win) 0.25pt e/w Le Cadre Noir 3.55 Curragh The first group race of the season and the favourite looks solid but in Paddy's current mark there looks plenty of e/w value. The fav romped home in a Galway maiden and followed that up with a 2lengths defeat to Lillie Langtry in group 2 race. Pollen is 2 from 3 over CD and relishes it round here and will relish the soft ground and is certainly worth interest back over a mile after some solid efforts in listed company over 7f and 16/1 looks massive. My other interest is the english raider Dascombe has brought over Danehills pearl and his maiden runner and will appreciate the softer irish turf and was last seen causing a 50/1 shock in italy in listed company and if can improve on that back over this slightly shorter trip should go well (maiden was won over 7f in very easy fashion) 0.25pt e/w danehills pearl 12/1 pp 0.25pt e/w Pollen 16/1 pp 4.30 Curragh (The Irish Lincoln) WOW This is even more competitive than ours simply because most of these bring atleast listed form to the table and some group level form! I am gonna take 4 of the 22 runners for win only purpose. Kargali was just over a length down on six of hearts at dundalk last week should come on from the run and remains lightly raced and improving having won a listed affair at leops last april, and that dundalk race was first handicap run so potentially more to come will love the soft conditions. She ours mark has gone well fresh 2 from 2 including a win, held hot company last year in group 2 & 3's and listed affairs and rarely disgraced and did win a group 3 and 2 listed affairs last year looks well treated on belated return to handicaps if able to convert that form. Award ceremony was only a head down on six of hearts at dundalk last week and is another that should come on for the run up 1lb for that effort but useful claimers offsets 3lb. Would perhaps prefer dryer conditions. Barack held his form well towards the end of last season on polytrack off this mark and not put up for those efforts and if things fall right he could be dangerous and wouldnt want ground conditions much wetter though! 0.25pt win kargali 14/1 pp 0.25pt win shes our mark 10/1 pp 0.25pt win award ceremony 9/1 pp 0.25pt win barack 12/1 pp

Re: Curragh Sunday 21st It'll be interesting to see how Ballydoyle start the new season . If it's anything like the last 4 seasons then i'd be looking to oppose them for a week or 2 . For the last 4 seasons their strike rate is only 4 wins from 19 runners in the month of March [1/7 last year] and i'd wager most of those beaten were in the top 3/4 in the market . Should get an idea after the first race .
