what's the story with the official going, seems quick for good to soft does it not? I'd missed the boat today, had assumed we'd be getting genuine good to soft ground but the horses specialising in soft - heavy range seemed to struggle.

Re: official going Yeah I noticed the same, definately seemed to be riding quicker than the official going. It was noticeable in the Champion Hurdle with Celestial Halo going off 100 mph and hurtling along! Looking at the Champion Chase tomorrow: Big Zeb - 7 career wins, 2 on Gd, 5 on slower Forpadydeplasterer - 5 wins on GS or slower Golden Silver - six wins on yielding or slower Kalahari King - 12 wins, four on Gd, rest on slower Mahogany Blaze - 5 wins, three on Gd Master Minded - 11 wins all on GS or slower Oh Crick - 7 wins, 3 on GD, rest on slower Twist Magic - 10 wins, 4 on Gd, rest on slower Well Chief - 11 wins, 1 on GF, 4 on Gd, rest on slower Can't help thinking that Well Cheif (even if fragile) is overpriced at 40/1. He acts at the track and of course caused the upset over a below par Master Minded earlier in the season. He has also had a rest since his last run, which could be important for his old legs.
