Wolverhampton - Thurs 14th Jan

Recommended Posts

4.10 Wolverhampton A really good race to kick off the card tomorrow. Excellent Show heads the market at 9/2 following a gutsy win last time out when he was headed but battled back bravely to get back up before the line. He remains open to more improvement and Argentine and Total Impact both come into the race off the back of last time out wins. However, I think all three may possibly be inconvenienced by the likely generous gallop that could be produced courtesy of Stolt, Wotashirtfull and Peak District and so I am siding with Rocket Rob. He makes his debut for Marco Botti having moved on from Simon Callaghan, but he looks handicapped to have a chance courtesy of Andrea Atzeni's claimers allowance. He must bounce back from a poor showing last time out but with Botti banging in the winners and seemingly showing no ill effects of the cold snap on his stable, I think he is worth chancing at the odds. 8/1 Bet 365, 2 pts EW (3 places, 1/5 odds).

Re: Wolverhampton - Thurs 14th Jan 4.10 Wolverhampton Excellent Show remains unexposed on the aw, having had 2 starts beaten by lesleys choice on first start and then beat the tatling by a neck last time out only up 2lb for that effort which is on the fairly light side for a lightly raced potential improver for an inform yard Smart. Also has a nice draw from stall 5 to fit in just behind the pace hopefully. 1pt e/w excellent show 9/2 bet365 4.40 Wolverhapton Carlton Scroop has an absolute amazing record when going fresh, with 3 starts after 100+days off track with 3 wins!! Does return to the flat off a career high mark but when last seen won very easily at lingfield over 12f step upto 14f shouldnt be a problem and although up 5lb for that effort the in form Carson takes a useful 3lb off! 0.5pt e/w carlton scroop 5.10 Wolverhampton Chosen forever comes into this seeking a hatrick and gets into this at bottom weight which does meen he possibly meets tougher opposition, but this is a rather weak class 5 handicap in my opinion most of these are thoroughly exposed and showing a lack of form. He remains lightly raced and has gone from strength to strength this winter and although up 7lb for beating some in form rivals very easily and should give a bold show again even in a hotter race. 0.75pt win chosen forever 6.40 Wolverhampton Fathsta finally got the job done on penultimate start and appeared to win with plenty in hand and although his come from behind style gets him into trouble sometimes but was only up 5lb for that and was far from disgraced in the hottest handicap on the AW this winter at the weekend and Ahern returns to the saddle a massive positive as he knows this horses quirks and back to sprint trip rather than the possibly strecthing 7f he tackled at the weekend. 0.5pt win fathsta 7/2 bet365
