2.10 Chepstow Coe - didn't get home in Scots National over four miles, and looked one paced when beaten at Newcastle and Haydock on both of last runs, 3m 5f 110 yd could thus be ideal here. Has winning form over this sort of trip at Haydock when winning off 16 lb lower, but showed improvement to finish second to Rambling Minster in Blue Sq Gold Cup at same track straight after. Fell at Cheltenham Festival but has got better with each run since, still looks handicapped to be competitive in a race like this and proven in the mud; 15/1 looks a good price for a runner from a yard that has been finding winners this month. For comp purposes, 1 pt win.

Re: Best bet of the day - Mon 28th Dec 4.45 Wolverhampton Fascinating handicap, five star junior is a classy performer on his day but tends to struggle to get his head in front but does appear to go extremely well on the aw and has to be treated carefully. Imprimis tagula proved he was just as effective over this trip and polytrack at lingfield recently but is much more at home at southwell and a 6lb penalty is sure to make things tougher again. Earlsmedic has won a couple of decent enough handicaps but this represents his toughest task in a while and looks plenty short enough in the market Toms laughter I felt could be capable of something decent this winter having run well behind green manalishi in handicap at lingfield but has since failed to live upto that having been pushed wide every time since and questions now need to be asked especially from stall 7. The one that appeals to me is the complete outsider of the field, smokey ryder drawn well in stall 6 for a horse that has been known to make all on the aw last won off a mark of 81 and although now rated 95 and ran extremely flat in hotter contests on turf but clearly goes better on the aw and has been known to go well fresh and just looks massively overpriced at 33/1. 0.5pt e/w smokey ruder 33/1 bet365
