Kempton 16th Dec (AW) (eve)

7.50 Kempton Similar to the first division this race is super weak but atleast there is one horse with atleast some chance, Mr plod who won with rather a lot in hand last time out and gets into this race with just a 6lb penalty which looks hardly enough to stop another bold show from a good enough draw and is clearly progressing nicely with new yard and is reportedly training with a horse racing off a mark of 70+ he is only rated 56 today so if that is true there could be a bit more to come! 2pt win mr plod 8.20 Kempton A decent enough looking listed event over 7f. Black dahlia was a runaway winner in a decent enough handicap for this time of year and showed she is clearly at her best at the moment and was well clear of anything else. May have to find a bit more to find here up against some higher rated horses but in current mood and clearly in such good heart cannot be ignored and main be a little unexposed over this trip only raced over 4 times since maiden running days 4 years ago. Aeroplane is useful performer on the aw but isn’t getting any younger and has done most of his running in claimers recently but was claimed by a yard getting a bit of a reputation for claiming useful performers and trying to get some more out of them and on OR is hardly out of this and on current form he looks as solid as ever having not to be asked for anything when winning 2 claimers (hardly hard work on paper anyhow) but he clearly retains ability but does tend to need things to fall right in hotter races but if they do he could runaway with such an event. 0.25pt e/w aeroplane 0.25pt e/w black dahlia 8.50 Kempton Red suede shoes has been drawn nicely in stall 6 and clearly continues in good heart and is holding form nicely and looks to remain progressive off this mark having run a decent race behind mr willis last time out from a wide draw but prior to that won over CD from a bad draw and that win maybe worth a bit more than the 5lb suggests back round here. He clearly likes it round here having won twice and a 2nd place in handicaps and with a 5th in claiming company before his good form started. 0.75pt e/w red suede shoes (if 5/1 or bigger if not a 0.75pt win)

Re: Kempton 16th Dec (AW) (eve) 7.50 Kempton Mr Plod - took advantage of a lenient flat mark and followed up win in a Kempton novices hurdle by sluicing up in polytrack handicap at Lingfield, latest. Is now 2-2 for current yard and no suprise to see him turned out under a 6 lb penalty to try extend that record before the handicapper has his say. 1 pt win.
