Cool sands has won off a mark of 70 on fibresand and 67 on the polytrack and is rated just 55 and ran a promising second last time out at southwell off this mark and has a good enough draw to attack from. 0.25pt e/w cool sands

Ralph Beckett's gelding has run some solid races in defeat up against some well handicapped rivals. He was third behind Kuanyo at Salisbury in August, that rival has followed up since off much higher marks, and at Winsdor in October he was just two lengths off Hajoum off level weights in a maiden. The Godolphin rival has ran well off 83 since going handicapping, Ponting is rated just 65 here. He hasn't set the world alight in polytrack handicaps previously but is worth another chance now being ridden with a bit more urgency.
