Banks v Bookie

Been mulling over this for a while and over a few conversations so I suppose its time to put it to the test and see what happens. The idea is a simple one. Most high street banks offer an interest rate of around 4% -5% Gross per annum if you are lucky. Im going to use Barclays Monthly saving account for illustration purposes for this. Their monthly saving account pays 4.17 Gross per annum. A person saving (Im putting this in Euro as its my base currency) €100 per week can expect to have €5200 + Interest after one full year. This would amount to €5408 per annum in their saving fund. Im aiming to better that with the same "Deposits" per month only that I will be breaking my "deposits" into stakes in the Bookies :lol As I mainly bet on Football now, most of these bets will be on either fixed odds, in-play (Supported by a screenshot at all times) or my particular current favourite which is the +2.5 goals markets. I will be placing only ONE bet per day and will be looking to generate odds of approx 8/1, therefore I will need one winning day per week to be on target. I feel this is achievable. I am not going to go down the line of placing one big bet at odds on and hope it works out. Im not very good at that anyway so Id end up losing long term :( Now to break down the stakes. €100 over 7 days works out at €14.28 per day but I will instead be staking as follows... Tuesday - Sunday....€15 per day Mondays.................€10 Monday tends to be the quietest day of the week for Football, so Im going to treat it that way. This thread is really all about the last term result so dont expect it to make a fortune, The only hope here is that I can significantly beat what a Bank deposit account can return over ONE full year. My simple aim is that by the 22nd of November 2010 that I will have in excess of €5408 put away. Also, As this is being treated like a savings account, there will be NO bank. Each bet will be treated as a deposit so only the returns will be banked. Should I miss out on a day, Bets will be re-calculated as such.. Any questions - Feel free to ask. Im not too sure how successful or disasterous this is going to be but there really is only one way to find out so wish me luck :cheers
