Wolverhampton 9th Oct (AW) (eve)

Recommended Posts

5.50 Wolverhampton Irish runners do reasonably well round here as form is hard to assess and tend to come in at nice prices but Liberty island has been running well on dundalks aw surface and will appreciate this step back in trip again. 0.25pt e/w liberty island 6.20 Wolverhampton Rose row was defenetily the one to take out of the race last time when finishing in smart style under Hayley last time out, and winner was raised 5lb and so was this one and therefore suggests it was a cracking run but horse looks in absolutely fine fettle and Hayley booked again maybe back in front this time! Leyte gulf looks to be the other one with a chance here having finished 2nd to the useful cape marien and is a useful cd winner second start ago. 0.5pt e/w rose row 0.25pt e/w leyte gulf 8.20 Wolverhampton Bid for glory is knocking on door last 2 times over CD, is raised 3lb for those efforts but this is a weak affair, has a good draw again. 0.5pt win bid for glory 9.20 Wolverhampton Billy red is clearly in the form of his life and does have to shoulder a 17lb rise which includes penalty but is dangerous to discredit in this field and is clearly enjoying racing and all weather again winning well last 2 times on all weather at lingfield and round here. Hellbender has consistently been knocking on the door back on the all weather and hasn’t been rised in handicap for those efforts and has a useful 5lb claimer on board. 0.5pt win billy red 0.25pt e/w hellbender

Re: Wolverhampton 9th Oct (AW) (eve) 5.50 Wolverhampton This looks like it could be fast and furious and with that in mind it could pay to side with the well handicapped Kyle. Conor Dore's gelding won off 75 last season and 72 this time around, both on turf, but even on the all-weather too he has shown he acts on this surface and his current mark of 67 means he is there to be chanced at the price. For example, in his juvenile days he was placed in a couple of polytrack maidens at Lingfield, then in 2007 he was placed at Kempton off 84. His last run in this sphere came in August when he was 9th of 12 at Kempton but the front pair are decent sorts for the grade and it is worth noting that even those behind him have won or ran well since; Brunelleschi (12th) won a Newmarket handicap next time out, Bel Cantor (11th) has placed a couple of times since and the tenth, Jordaura, was beaten by a short head in a handicap next time out, so the form isn't as bad as it looks at first glance. A world beater he is not but Travis Block takes the ride, which is a further positive. 28/1 SJ, 5 pts EW (3 places, 1/4 odds).
