Does anyone here think Kuznetsova has what it takes to beat Davenport? She could be massive value if her recent form is anything to go by(having eliminated Petrova and a rejuvenated Mary Pierce in the process) - as I haven't seen much of Kuznetsova's matches, any thoughts from people familair with Kuznetsova's play would be appreciated. :b

Re: US Open Ladies Singles : Semis and Beyond Kuznstova is a mini Davenport. Very powerful. Plays from the baseline. She’s got more speed than Davenport but Davenport has got the big match experience. I had her down in my analysis as making the quarters (over the road) but I think she was fortunate to meet the flaky Petrova there. Pierce bottled the previous game and Petrova is notorious for self destructing so her victories over them I’d rate less than Davenport’s over Bovina (Pen Pilot Winner the previous week) and Williams. There’s however no value on Davenport in my view at less than 1.2 most places. The other Russian Bovina that played Davenport had a set point but crumbled. Kuznetsova is made of tougher stuff and should push her all the way. If you’re thinking of going with Kuznetsova I’d suggested laying Davenport sets 2-0 at 1.55 (Betfair).
