2.35 Goodwood Jesse James is interesting after a nice win at Windsor last time out making all but I expect he will have to hand over the lead to Kaolak here. John Ryan's charge has been in breathtaking form of late and even after an 11 lb rise, is improving so sharply when allowed to dominate that further improvement cannot be ruled out. 13/2 SJ, 2.5 pt win. 3.10 Goodwood Colagnik showed promise in all-weather maidens last season, chasing home Greenisland, Clerk's Choice and The Thin Red line in maidens, and often hinting she wanted further than a mile. She tackled 1m 2f for the first time last time out and made no impression but she was entitled to need the run and improvement may be forthcoming now in handicaps, in handling turf as well as the all-weather. 33/1 SJ, 2.5 pts EW (3 places, 1/4 odds). 4.20 Goodwood Alnwick reluctantly took up the running at Warwick, latest, with a lack of pace in the field, and look to have every chance inside the last couple of furlongs before being headed by Baddam and the winner, Just Lille, who looked the pacemaker on paper but who was raced with more restraint markedly upped in trip. By backing him here I am hoping that the Kevin Ryan runner Wicked Daze may take up the running, and allow Alnwick to sit just off the leader. That is not guaranteed, hence the modest stake, but Alnwick seems an honest enough type and the price seems big. 10/1 Bet 365, 2.5 pts EW (2 places, 1/4 odds).

Re: Goodwood - Sun 13th Sept 1.30 Goodwood Alicante looked a typical progressive Prescott horse but got stumped by a double penalty last time out and is now only 6lb higher than last winning and could well be back in their today if putting disappointing effort behind him has had a small break in the hope to freshen him up and is no concern as has gone well fresh before. 1pt win Alicante 9/4 vcbet 2.35 Goodwood Interesting affair here with another of my seasons favs here in Kaolak likely to make a bold bid from the front and pull quite a way clear obviousbly does have a 11lb rise in handicap which looks harsh on paper but if getting a cosy lead again round this course could go well and certainly cant see it finishing out of the places! 1pt e/w kaolak 11/2 paddypower 4.55 Goodwood Interesting handicap with 2 horses coming in carrying 6lb penalties. Mujood won nicely over CD last time out in similar conditions but has Hefferman on board claiming 7lb which makes him very attractive aswell as Belle Des Airs who won in similar conditions at Epsom and won a bit easier than Mujood but the loss of 3lb claimer and 6lb penalty is a concern but a strong ride Seb Sanders may see him on the battle line. 0.5pt win mujood 7/2 corals 0.5pt win Belle des airs 4/1 vcbet 5.30 Goodwood Jimmy ryan was thought a lot of before having to be on the sidelines for nearly 4 years and looks well treated on previous form, probably needed the run last time out and did look as though he was going good until fading rapidly in last furlong or so, I would hope for better today sure to strip fitter and also receives a 3lb drop in handicap.
