2.35 Doncaster Bazergan is 3 lbs higher than when winning at Beverley earlier in the season but may still be considered well in on old form, bearing in mind he was placed off 9 lbs higher at Lingfield last season, even taking into account the fact he races from several pounds out of the handicap tomorrow. One of the market principles tomorrow is Eastern Aria, who benefits from a weight for age allowance and arrives in rude health for Mark Johnston. However, Bazergan was only a short head and a length off that rival in a recent encounter at Sandown when sixth. It is true to say that Fanjura came out on top, but I feel he is a little too high in the handicap now and that he could be beaten. With Eastern Aria priced at 4/1 and Bazergan at 20/1, I am willing to have a punt on Neil Callan's mount. 20/1 Bet 365, 0.5 pt EW (3 places, 1/5 odds). 3.10 Doncaster I pity the odds compiler that had to price up The Wetherby's Insurance 300,000 Insurance Stakes race here. With Twenty-two two-year-olds lining up to face the starter, a bit of guesswork must have been involved as so many of these are unexposed. Taajub is understandably the favourite after a fair second at York behind a useful looking Showcasing, however, it is Rakaan that is my selection. Brian Meehan's Bahamian Bounty colt has had six starts, and in that time he has shown that he is perhaps more closely matched with Taajub than the betting suggests. At Newmarket in August he was half a length off Arabian Pride off level weights and, in turn, that rival was two and a quarter lengths off Taajub in a Newmarket maiden at the end of July. Admittedly, the formline indicates that Taajub has the beating of my selection, with this is a bunch of unexposed two year olds and shock improvement could feasibly occur. Rakaan has shown on a couple of occassions she is useful. Although beaten by six and seven lengths in two runs against the classy Canford Cliffs, she was only three parts of a length off Xtension at Ascot in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes - and that piece of form alone entitles her to be shorter than 20/1 for this in my opinion. Many of these have been running in average nurseries and conditions events, and thus Rakaan's form looks strong. The final positive for tomorrow is the jockey booking of Kieren Fallon. The former champ is back with a bang, fired in two winners at this meeting yesterday with his performance on Strike The Deal inparticularly impressive, and so his booking is another positive for me. 20/1 Paddypower, 1.5 pts EW (3 places, 1/5 odds).

Re: Doncaster - Thurs 10th Sept 5.25 Doncaster This looks a cracking sprint handicap and I am inclined to keep faith with Tagula Night, who hacked up at Lingfield last time out and chases the hat-trick here. Walter Swinburn's gelding is up 6 lbs for that win but looks to be going the right way. Ingleby Lady also looks to hold decent claims for David Barron. She won well in a modest race at Redcar, latest, but even after an 8 lb rise, cannot be discounted. Bajan Tryst ran a cracker at Ripon last time out behind Medicean Man and may end up making the pace here. Neil Callan knows what is required and he could go close at a price. Tagula Night 7/1 VC Bet, 1.75 pts win Ingleby Lady 14/1 VC Bet, 0.5 pts win Bajan Tryst 25/1 Bet 365, 0.75 pts win
