Kempton (eve) - Wed 2nd Sep

8.20 Kempton The classiest race on the card is this one mile handicap and I think Respite could run well from a good, high draw. William Haggas' filly ran on well over seven furlongs last time hinting that this step up in trip would suit, whilst the jockey booking of Richard Hills is a huge plus bearing in mind he has a 30 % strike rate (LSP of 34.40) in the last five seasons for the yard. Roar of Applause is another one I fancy. Brian Meehan's gelding has only had two runs on polytrack, both here, but won a nursery and was a respectable second on the other try behind the useful Musleh from the Godolphin yard two starts ago. The jockey booking for this one is also very appealing, bearing in mind Eddie Ahern's 20 % strike rate (LSP 25.25) for Meehan in the last five seasons. Respite 7/1 Bet 365, 5 pts EW (3 places, 1/4 odds) Roar of Applause 8/1 Paddypower, 5 pts EW (3 places, 1/4 odds)

Re: Kempton (eve) - Wed 2nd Sep 5.50 Kempton Assail is a serious contender, won handicap debut round here off a mark of 68 then ran off 75 LTO and ran a good 3rd behind Muslesh in a race with maybe too much pace, Musleh has proven form having gone on to win again, main concern is the step up in trip although may get a soft lead today and could play to his side. And will be looking to play this one in running if getting that soft lead. Young dottie is capable of more back on AW but could be rated slightly to high in handicap this is also her first run around Kempton. Supernovverre won round here over 1m4f off a mark of 69 then went on to win off a mark of 71 on turf has since looked well held on turf runs off 70 today and could bounce back with return to this surface and is drawn well from stall 10. Haafhid time has had 3 runs round here winning twice, won a class 5 handicap on penultimate start by 1 length off a mark of 58 next time out took a chance in a class 4 event from an unfavourable draw came a good enough 4th stepped back down a furlong and would look to suit better and back to a class 5 event. Bets: Assail (If leading after a couple furlongs) 0.5pt win in play Supernoverre 0.25pt e/w Haafhd 0.25pt e/w 7.20 Kempton Yawary is tried at a much longer trip tonight and could be just what he needs after finishing strongly in a 5f event at lingfield last time out under catlin. Has been dropped another 1lb today and also drawn well. Sixpenny moon warrants respect on AW form coming 3rd off a mark 2lb lower mark but was disappointing last time out off same mark on turf 0.1pt e/w sixpenny 0.25pt e/w yawary 7.50 Kempton As far as claimers go they dont get much wide open than this with the top 3 in the weights on level terms on official figures and all have form on AW surface, although statue book has course form. Equipe de nuit would have solid claims on official figures but has been struggling at this level even on favourable terms over the summer. No bets 8.20 Kempton Looks another wide open event, cool hand jake seems to enjoy it around here and is better than he showed last time out when ran behind musleh in a race with far too much pace, prior to that won round here off a 5lb lower mark than todays is drawn better today in stall 10. Respite seems to enjoy kempton having won his maiden round here and 2nd last time out in a handicap is raised 4lb for that effort and looks slightly harsh and could stop him from getting in front again anytime soon. Striding edge improved rapidly when winning round here 2 weeks ago by a length to Cut and thrust is raised 3lb and if in same good mood again wouldnt be disgraced here, doesnt have ideal draw. 0.1pt e/w cool hand jake 14/1 Bet365 bog 0.25pt e/w striding edge 12/1 paddypower bog 8.50 Kempton Rebecca de winter took advantage of a slipping handicap mark coming 2nd round here over 5f last time out, penny seemed to drop late that day and this extra furlong may help. Has won over 6f before. Guildenstern is well treated on previous AW form but has looked well held recently. 0.5pt e/w rebecca de winter 9.20 Kempton Awful race with a lot of these coming here in no sort of form what so ever, but if compton falcon is fit after a lay off since Jan could go well, ran out a good 3rd at wolverhampton when last seen and runs off same mark and has the more experienced Amy Scott on board 0.25pt e/w compton falcon
