Re: Hamilton 24th Aug 4.50 Hamilton I don't know why They All Laughed is so big in the market this morning as he was down as a 3/1 chance on the Sporting Life tissue and to be honest I was expecting something around 5/1 max, so am delighted to be able to take 9/1 this morning. Claimed out of Peter Hiatt's yard last time out, he makes his debut for Marjorie Fife, but he has been in form in handicaps to some extent this season and looks overpriced. A winner off 70 at Southwell in May, that race wasn't particularly strong, nevertheless, he runs off a 5 lb lower mark here so looks handicapped to have a chance. This horse has competed regularly at Southwell in its career so I don't think the slow ground at Hamilton today will pose any problems. The fact Fife has purchased this horse in the first place suggests it will be sent hurldling any time soon, so 11f on heavy ground should not test the stamina of the Zafonic gelding who has winning form up to 1m 6f. The opposition all look poor value. The favourite Puy d'Arnac won last time out at Musselburgh but jockey McDonald who rode that day is replaced by a 7 lb claimer, who could be anything and may struggle on a horse that has underacheived so often in its career. Ibrox looks a more worthy favourite IMO but is a little short even at the current price for me to get involved and the other three make little appeal. Maslak may be more effective on quicker ground, Bajan Parkes has something to prove off the back of recent efforts, the same of which can be said for Shady Gloom. 9/1 Paddypower, EW
