15.10 Newbury - Balthazaars Gift. I don't usually bet on these sort of races but I'm going to take a chance on Balthazaars Gift. The selection has been knocking on the door of late and was unlucky not to win last time out. This horse will need a bit of luck in running and it likes to pounce late and hopefully the race will set itself up for Clive Cox's horse. He has been hinting that he has been coming back into form recently and he could go well at a decent price. Each-way. Currently 14/1 Bet365.

Re: Newbury 15/08/09. 13.30 Newbury - Love And Devotion. There are a few interesting newcomers in this one but none of them stand out and of the two form horses I take Love And Devotion to win this. The Godolphin horse shaped well on debut despite running green, she stayed on fairly well when not been given a hard time of it to finish 5th behind Seeking Dubai at Windsor. The main danger in this race also ran in the Windsor race and came 7th and didn't show as much promise as the selection. The main danger is Pin Cushion who will come on for the run but I take Love And Devotion to progress more and win this one. 16.20 Newbury - Estonia. I think the favourite might be worth taking on in this one and out of the newcomers I'd like to take my chance on Estonia who is definitely the stand out unraced horse. John Gosden's filly is speedily bred and if she is ready first time out she should run a big race at what could well be a decent price. It's more than likely this one will be an each-way bet.
