4.40 Redcar Wherlijig was well supported on his handicap debut last time out to suggest connections fancy him off this mark of 73 and although he disappointed on that occassion, the drop back in trip and this faster ground could see him in a better light. Trainer Alan Swinbank is one of the top trainers at the Teeside track and his runners always deserve a second look here. EW.

Re: best bet of the day - Sun 9th Aug R5.10 Sardan Dancer 0.5pt E/W Has been slipping down the handicap and ran its best race LTO when todays jockey was on board for the first time. The trainer is having a superb season and this one looks sure to go well at 10/1 (4 places paid on the e/w). The horse started slowly last time out and finished really well so a better start today off a low mark should see it go close. Also has a high draw which should be another positive.
