Re: Pontefract 5th Aug 4.40 Pontefract Motafarred is proven on this stiff track and has ran well on both of his starts here - winning a handicap off 69 last May and then finishing a half of a length second to Major Magpie off 74 three months later. Today he runs off 78, but that is only three lbs higher than when a decent second to Stevie Gee at Carlisle in June. The form of that race has worked out reasonably well with the third (Bold Marc) winning next time out and the fourth, Moheeb, winning twice since. He was last seen in a stronger handicap at Ascot but trailed home eighth of nine. However, it is worth noting that he contested the lead before the tank emptied. This afternoon he is likely to get an easier time of things upfront and I'm taking him to bounce back. 8/1 Bet 365, EW.
