Hello, Hope someone can help. I understand the formular for calculating individual stakes for dutching a number of selections to a target profit. What I am after is the formular for working out the individual stakes for dutching a number of selections to varing profit. Let me explain. Say I have a field of horses, I know how to work out the stakes for a number of selections to say a target profit of £10 (your normal simple straight dutch). However, what I would like to do is vary the target profit. So I could specify £10 target profit for the first two selections, £5 target profit for second two selections and £0 profit (breakeven) for the nextt three selections. I hope I have made myself clear. Anybody that's ever had a look at the dutching facility in Bet Angel Pro will understand what I mean. Many thanks Dan

Re: Help with this dutching formular! There's no simple formula for a varying number of selections like there is when you want the same target profit. The maths you need to do is solving a system of simultaneous linear equations. I'm pretty sure Excel can do this, but I'm no Excel expert. For example, if you have three selections with (British) odds of n_1, n_2 and n_3 (e.g., if the first horse is 6/4, then n_1 = 1.5), and your target profits are p_1, p_2, p_3, then you need to solve the system of equations: n_1*x_1 - x_2 - x_3 = p_1 - x_1 + n_2*x_2 - x_3 = p_2 - x_1 - x_2 + n_3*x_3 = p_3 where x_1, x_2, x_3 are the stakes you need on the three selections.
