I've been staying off the horses as much as possible, as I've been getting too involved in them lately. However, I recalled somebody months ago questioning the subject of horses chasing a 3rd win on the bounce..... so for the past week or so, I've been keeping a record and working out some filters. Example: of 6 odds-on horses in this period, 4 of the blasted things got beat! (Yirga this evening being one of them.....) Anyway, my best filters appear to be: 2 WINS MUST HAVE BEEN BOTH IN THIS SEASON FIELD OF 10 RUNNERS OR LESS AT THE OFF MUST GO OFF FAV AND ODDS BETWEEN EVENS & 7/2 INCLUSIVE ONLY. The record this creates: 14th July NONE QUALIFIED 15th July NONE QUALIFIED 16th July 4.35 HAMILTON Tangerine Trees 1st 11/4 f (7) 17th July NONE QUALIFIED 18th July 2.20 NEWBURY High Standing 1st 5/2 f (8) 2.40 MARKET RASEN Rupestrian 1st 7/4 f (9) 4.15 MARKET RASEN Any Given Day 1st evens f (8) 19th July NONE QUALIFIED 20th July NONE QUALIFIED 21ST July NONE QUALIFIED 22nd July 8.25 LEICESTER Rafta 1ST 15/8 f (9) 23rd July NONE QUALIFIED 5 winners out of 5..... and something worth thinking about. There have been "possibles" every day, but obviously as off time approached, either the number of runners or odds would rule them out. So this isn't a place bets in the morning system.
