How do the bookmakers pick a favourite?Only 33% win so their method is not very good.

Re: Favourites It is all based on a tissue price that they work out the night before or morning but then once people start backing its money that makes a fav, if a lot of money is placed on a 10/1 shot theres a chance it could be a fav by the start of the race and if there is lack of money for there tissue price fav then it will drift and wont be fav by the off, its a complicated system and theres prob others that can describe in more detail but its all about them taking money for 1 horse and trying to lay another!
