Verdasco needed three hours yesterday to defeat Koellerer who by the way had match point and simply was the better player.Fernando showed that his form is bad playing very even match once again vs. player below his rank(defeated Beck in hard fivesetter,lost to Kohl in five sets too on DC last week).Clay h2h record is 3-0 in Monaco's favour,looks like he adapted nice on the surf. here after he dissapointed in DC last week,as well.I think that he stands a good chance of beating Verdasco tomorrow,GL all. He barely won against Vassallo Arguello and Vassallo is a weak player. M Zverev is very good on clay. He is playing home and in good shape (won against Simon in 2 sets). He also did well this year on clay in Madrid TMS and he was crippled by some injuries. But now he looks in good shape and I think that he could be considered favorite to win this tournament. I've placed a bet on Zverev to win against Chardy, but I think I'll also place one on the outright. He is the favorite here in my opinion. And I just don't see J. Monaco winning more than 1 set here. The victory 6-4 6-0 against Gabashvilli yersterday convinced me that Robredo is in good shape. And the most important thing is that he serves well. Juan Monaco is a player with a serve not so good and a good game overall. But if Robredo can win his serves with his very good Tie Break performances I can't see J. Monaco doing anything special. Robredo had 3 semifinals and 2 finals from 2002 at Bastad, so he is doing an excellent job here. Also he played few games with Gabashvilli so he is fresh for this game too.
