BLAKESHALL DIAMOND 2.35 Wolverhampton. 0.5 points each way. Recent form leaves a lot to be desired, but if we look back at his runs for this yard, then he certainly has every chance of a win of this mark of 52. Also, as happened many times in the past, new scenery for a horse can bring them back to life, and with already proving he likes being at the Chamberlain yard, and with no trip and surface concerns, then the 40/1 on offer does look very big indeed. So well worth taking the chance that he bounces back to form today.

Re: Wolverhampton (AW) ~ Friday 5th June. 4.25 Punch Drunk 6/1 bet3 bog 5pts e.w This is what i said about this one before its somewhat unlucky run lto, ‘Looks a tricky race this but going this way round I feel Punch Drunk could return to better form. She has shown a few times now she regularly hangs left handed so having the rail here could well help and there is every reason to think she could get a really good early position, possibly leading from a nice draw in 2. As for her form, she won on her second start at big odds but did it quite well before finding handicaps a bit too tough but some of her runs were fair. Notably her third at yarm that has received boosts from 4/5 horses from that race who have won/run well since and proven they were better than their marks that day. She was very poor on her first start this year due to the hanging and also her trainers poor form, he is getting back in better form now so could be ready to strike again. Also is entered at hq later in the week which sometimes is noteworthy.’ She never got a clean passage that day and eventually finished third. However that was a run that proved she is back in some form and how well she likes the track and the conditions. Off the same mark today she could go close.
