Why bother entering?

I was just looking through the results and happened to notice this race and it got me questioning why do trainers/connections bother entering horses into races where they are clearly gonna be totally out classed!! http://www.attheraces.com/card.aspx?raceid=209234&meetingid=31891&date=2009-04-11&ref=results&refsite=&nav=results Bet noir 200/1 shot couldnt produce anything in class 5 races no class 6 dropped last time to class 7 still no luck slipped down handicap mark rapidly never won, oh so i know lets enter it into a class 1 race why??
