Red or Black

Recommended Posts

I was here a couple of days ago and was reading someones post about Roullette. Basically you stick to 1 colour, say Red and back it. You start off with a £2 bet and if it wins you make a £2 profit. If it loses then your next bet is £4 red. If that goes down you up it to £8, then £16, £32 and so on until Red comes in. Obviousy if the ball lands on black after say 10 times on the trot then you stand to lose quite a bit but if say you had a bank of £1000 it would have to land on black 10 consecutive times which would be very difficult to do to lose that amount. Reason for asking is I have the chance of a trip to Vegas and I fancy the casino's just for the experience and want to go over with a system where I won't lose too much and who knows might make a profit:D

Re: Red or Black It doesn't work I'm afraid - the balls have no memory, so whether the last number(s) were black or red, do not impact whether future number(s) will be black or red - your expectation would be identical to always go red, always go black or to go a random colour each time..... So your scheme is just doubling up, just martingale - you might get lucky and win a little with it, or you might get unlucky and lose a lot, but overall your expectation is negative. Also - your bank is busted after 8 losses - £2+£4+£8+£16+£32+£64+£128+£256 = £510 and you now cannot afford (just) your next £512 bet. Your odds of 8 consecutive losses are 0.4835% per attempt. Play 100 attempts (an attempt I'm counting as each time you play until you win) and you're (:unsure not certain about my maths at this stage) 38.4% likely to lose your bankroll...... By all means play roulette for entertainment, but dont kid yourself that you have any expectation other than losing - expect to lose, as usually you will .... no "system" can change the odds of roulette in your favour....
