The Curious Case of Benjamin Button @ 4.50 Sportingbet Although Slumdog is the definitive favourite for the major awards this season, the Globes have often been awarded to a film other than the Oscar favourite, often with a tend towards films that are more epic in scope. Last year when Atonement kept out No Country and Babel pipping out the Departed are two good recent examples. Button feels much more like previous winners than Slumdog and I firmly believe that it will win at least 25-30% of the time, so there's some good value to be had in this bet.

Re: Golden Globes 11th Jan Best Director - David Fincher @ 4.00 Eskander/Betstar In the event that Button does win for best film, I think that this is a pretty good chance to win. However, the main reason I like this bet is because even if Slumdog does get the best pic, I'm not convinced the film has enough epic scope to give Boyle the nod. As such I feel the director of a more typical awards season contender, like Button, is a strong chance to take home the Golden Globe. The stakes for this one are half for what I did for best pic, as I'm not as sure of my feel for the globes. Look out for this one come Oscars though...
