Australian A-League (January 8th-10th)

Recommended Posts

Adelaide -1 (EH) Adelaide have a game in hand to overtake Melbourne on top of the ladder and will look to a win here against the bottom placed Newcastle side to get those 3 points to send them back on top. They have a 7-1-1 record at home where they have scored 23 goals and conceded only 8 while Newcastle have a 1-2-6 record on the road and have scored 7 but conceded 20 goals. Adelaide have the best defence and Newcastle has the worst attack, while Adelaide have the third best attack and Newcastle has the worst defence. With Adelaide needing to win here, and at home, and a goal difference of just one goal better than Melbourne, look for them to not only win but also get a few goals in the process.

Re: Australian A-League (January 8th-10th) Central Coast - Queensland draw Central Coast in 3rd spot and Queensland is in 4h spot as both teams need the 3 points to consolidate a top 4 spot but both teams will end up with a point. CC have a 5-2-2 record at home with 16 goals for and 9 against while Qld have a 4-4-1 record on the road with 13 goals for and 7 against. CC doesn't concede much at home while Qld have the best defence on the road in the league. This should be a pretty tight game where both defences keep the opposition strikers in check, as both teams are likely to play it conservative so as not to allow the other team the opportunity to score with so much at stake. These two teams played 5 weeks ago here at CC and that ended with a 1-1 draw so look for a repeat of that once again.

Re: Australian A-League (January 8th-10th) Perth - Melbourne over 2.5 Perth are 7th with no chance of making the top 4 while Melbourne are 2nd and will go first with a win here. Perth have gone over in 3 of their last 5 games as they have scored 9 and conceded 6 goals in these 5 games while Melbourne have gone over in 4 of their last 5 away games as they have scored 8 but allowed 11 goals in these games. Melbounre don't have a good record in Perth but the over has occurred in 5 of their last 6 games there as well as 7 of the last 10 games overall.
