price direction?

i believe alot of the hard hitting punters know which direction a horse's price is going. my question is how do i ( as a novice) get to have a feel of which way a horse's price would go? does it depend on which horse the tipsters are backing and laying? are there any books or resources to help? any advice on this is much appreciated as usual. cheers

Re: price direction? Not specificially for horses but I'd mostly put it down to 3 things: information (as you say tipsters or just information being passed around), weight of money and momentum. I'd also say it's a 'feel' thing and quite often hard to quantify or explain.
