I'm back again, the master of the failed glory hunts! :lol This time I'm going to have a look at pretty much whatever takes my fancy. Got £19.71 in Betfair and just see how far this takes me. Probably end up going nowhere but here's hoping! Bet No. 1 - Chelsea v Arsenal - Arsenal Clean Sheet? No @1.23 on Betfair £2 staked for potential £0.46 profit (:lol) :hope Really cannot see Chelsea not scoring against Arsenal, especially considering Anelka's recent good form.

Re: Arkantos' Anything Goes Glory Hunt Bet No. 2 - Recreativo v Villareal - Villareal (-0) @ 1.81 on Betfair £2 staked for potential £1.62 profit :hope This looks like a superb value bet to me. Rec are yet to win at home, while Villareal haven't lost away so far this season. Not entirely convinced they will win this game, but odds of 4/5 represent excellent value for me.

Re: Arkantos' Anything Goes Glory Hunt Bet No. 3 - Bochum v Hamburg - Over 2.5 goals @ 1.84 on Betfair £2 staked for potential £1.68 profit. :hope Stats point to a high-scoring affair here. 5 out of 7 of Bochum's home games have finished over, whilst all of Hamburg's away games have. 4/5 looks decent odds for this bet.

Re: Arkantos' Anything Goes Glory Hunt Bet No. 1 - Chelsea v Arsenal - Arsenal Clean Sheet? No :clap 1-2 Bet No. 2 - Rec v Villareal - Villareal (-0) :clap 1-2 Bet No. 3 - Bochum v Hamburg - Over 2.5 goals :wall 1-1 Could have been so different, can't believe Bochum v Hamburg finished 1 goal short of a nice start. Ah well, only a very minor loss on the first day and here's hoping for better tomorrow! Current Balance: £19.69 P/L: -£0.02 S/R: 2/3 (66%)

Re: Arkantos' Anything Goes Glory Hunt Bet No. 5 - Reading v Coventry - Reading -0.75 @ 1.62 on Betfair. £2 staked for potential £0.62/£1.24 profit. :hope Can't see past Reading not winning at home against Coventry tonight. Reading have only lost one game at home so far this season, and have scored 25 goals in the process. Home win for me.

Re: Arkantos' Anything Goes Glory Hunt Bet No. 6 - FC Porto v Academica - Under 2.5 Goals @ 2.08 on Betfair £2 staked for potential profit of £2.16 :hope Slightly risky bet, but I feel the odds at a shade over evens justify it. In their last 8 matches, Academica have yet to have a game which has gone over. Although they are yet to win or even score away from home, they don't ship many, conceding just 4 in their 4 away matches so far this season. Equally, Porto have only gone over twice all season, and just once at home. After gaining a lead, they seem to like to sit back and defend it and so Unders looks value from here, despite the class difference between the teams.

Re: Arkantos' Anything Goes Glory Hunt Bet No. 8 - Lens v Sedan - Lens (-0.75) £2 staked for potential £0.81/£1.62 :hope Lens should win this easily, but Sedan could well put up a fight after showing they could fight against the best by beating Boulougne earlier in the season. Still, on balance, I feel Lens should have too much for Sedan.

Re: Arkantos' Anything Goes Glory Hunt Bet No. 11 - Luton v Bournemouth - Over 2.5 Goals @ 2.12 on Betfair £2 staked for potential £2.24 profit :hope Neither team has yet managed to keep a clean sheet in the league, indicating very leaky defences. 6/8 of Bournemouth's away games and 5/8 of Luton's home matches have resulted in overs and so these odds look value.

Re: Arkantos' Anything Goes Glory Hunt Good day today as Wycombe win 4-0 and Luton finish all square with Bournemouth in what looked like a cracking game finishing 3-3. Upshot is that both of my bets came in so onward and upward! Current Bank: £26.07 P/L: £7.36 S/R: 8/11 (73%)

Re: Arkantos' Anything Goes Glory Hunt Cheers Staffy, good to know someone is keeping an eye out! Forgot to mention for anyone who is interested, at the minute I'm just trying to increase my bank by 5% a day. Although given Betfair's minimum of £2, it will probably be more than that! If my calculations are correct I'll be nearly a billion pounds better off come next Christmas! :eek :lol But that's not going to happen :) Anyway onto today. Bet No. 12 - Carlisle v Crewe - Carlisle (-1) @ 2.24 on Betfair £2 staked for potential £2.48 profit :hope Normally I don't particularly like betting on cup games because they can be too unpredictable. However, given the odds here, this has to be worth a nibble. Carlisle haven't had the best start to the season but appear to be slowly getting things sorted as they have won their last 2 home games. Crewe on the other hand, are looking dreadful. So far this season, they have gained 1 point out of a possible 27 away from home. They have lost their last 4, and shipped 10 in those 4 games, whilst only scoring 3 themselves. With all this in mind, Carlisle on the Asian looks value.

Re: Arkantos' Anything Goes Glory Hunt Bet No. 13 - Mansfield v Oxford - Mansfield @ 2.26 on Betfair. £2 staked for potential £2.52 profit :hope Like the look of the odds on this match. Mansfield are extremely strong at home, showing a record 6-1-2 and only conceding 9 goals in the process. Meanwhile, Oxford away are atrocious showing stats of 1-2-7 and only scored 7. Think this one will go the way of Mansfield.

Re: Arkantos' Anything Goes Glory Hunt Right onto tonight: Bet No. 14 Bordeaux v Valenciennes - Bordeaux (-1) @ 1.78 on Betfair £2 staked for potential £1.56 profit. :hope Really like the look of Bordeaux tonight. They are yet to lose at home, whilst Valenciennes are yet to win away and have scored only 2 goals in their 8 away games this season. Odds unfortunately aren't available for a Bordeaux clean sheet, but this looks more than respectable given the gulf in class between the two teams. Bet No. 15 Bayern Munich v Hoffenheim - Over 3.5 goals @ 2.32 on Betfair £2 staked for potential £2.64 profit :hope Odds look value here. All of Bayern's home games would have brought this in so far this season, whilst 5 out of 7 of Hoffenheim's away games have contained at least 4 goals. Should be a goalfest out there tonight. Bet No. 16 - Amadora v Sporting Lisbon - Under 1.5 goals @ 2.98 on Betfair £2 staked for potential £3.96 profit :hope Slightly speculative punt, but I feel the stats are in my favour here. 3 out fo 4 of Amadora's home games have finished with less than 2 goals, whilst 4 out of 5 of Lisbon's have. Normally I would go for under 2.5 to be a bit safer but odds are a bit prohibitive (1.62), so I think Under 1.5 is worth a shout.
