Right, so I'm going to apply my statistical football system to Ice Hockey, Basketball and Volleyball. Logic is that the league tables are very similar to football league tables, and that it could be even more lucrative as draws are rarer. Plus I think the bookies which offer odds on these games have less idea than football. I've got all the stats I need on all the European and US leagues, so I'm going to do paper trades to start with and see how it goes. 1000 point bank, each bet is to make £30 profit. Rules - Do not bet on a game where a team has drawn 40% or more of matches. (HDT) Do not bet on a team with a match rating of <5. Todays Ice Hockey ratings with best price on the right:-

Good shooting again bud, I only caught this last night and the matches had obviously started/finished as I couldnt find any of them! Be nice if you could turn over 90 quid everyday!! :)
I'm not sure what time they start but I put a very small stake (not the £30 paper trial) on each bet as soon as I did the calculations, and I got the results at about 8pm - so I guess they must start about 5 or 6pm. Surprising amount of liquidity in Betfair's market too, I got much better odds than the best prices from conventional bookmakers... There should hopefully be a lot of potential here, I don't see why the system cannot be applied to other sports as well - which would be nice as I wouldn't be doing many football bets between the end of season in may and mid-october at least before form comes into play.

IF Sundsvall to beat Bofors IK - £32.61 staked @ 1.92 Chemopetrol Litvinov to beat Slavia Praha - £20.69 staked @ 2.45 KalPa to beat Karpat - £19.35 staked @ 2.55 (this is a truly outstanding price because some bookies have this match at odds on)

Hi, thanks for the encouraging words! I'm definitely going to stick with it, I honestly feel that I can almost reach out and feel the gold, but I just need a few more steps to do it ;). I've tweaked the system a fair bit (also the same with the football) whereby I take into account the respective percentage of wins more in each league (I realised this wasn't being weighted strongly enough - after all we'd all rather bet in a league where >80% of games are won instead of 70%!), also I'm going to only advise games with a >5 point differential instead of >4 points (logic as posted in the football thread). Furthermore, for the different sports to football, I realise that I need to tailor the high draw tendency to the relevant stats - for example in football a team has a high draw tendency if they draw >40% of matches, whereas having looked through detailed stats, I now realise that an ice hockey team has a high draw tendency if the draw >30% of matches. So that will also be factored in. Overall I am definitely very positive, but yesterdays results were all round frustrating! I know that many people did a lot of money in football and it was a good day for the bookies with many heavily fancied teams going down. Hopefully the tweaks will lead to some excellent results :hope Today's games to be posted soon.

I've decided for time reasons that I'm only going to rate matches with an obvious discrepancy in the league tables - it's taking me like 2-3 hours every morning and with the football system too I can't afford to spend that much time on it! There is no negative except we don't see every match rating, but we won't lose betting opportunities. Positives are that I can rate more divisions/more sports. Basketball tables are beginning to take shape now, plus I am going to be starting volleyball ratings too. Anyway, todays selected ice hockey ratings:-
