From SoccerAge... 03/13/2003. A betting man has won £406,000 for a £73 stake – but he would have picked up an extra £300,000 if Reading had drawn against Wolves on Wednesday night. The punter, a businessman, placed bets in William Hill's central London branch on games in which he picked one team to be ahead at half-time, with the match ending as a draw. He successfully backed Gillingham v Wimbledon; Rochdale v Bournemouth; Crystal Palace v Ipswich, Ajax v Valencia and Inter Milan v Newcastle. However, the result of the sixth – Reading v Wolves – was a 1-0 win for Wolves, who had also led at the break. A spokesman for William Hill said: "The man is a regular gambler on football matches and was delighted with his £400,000 winnings. "'But the Reading-Wolves game would have given him a world record betting shop payout of £700,000 for football wagers." --- - not sure Will-Hills are gonna be in profit this week... :lol
