in-play system bots in betting exchanges

Hi all: I've been a lurker up to this point, and am so risk adverse with my money that I'm not even a punter. That, combined with my lack of interest in sports, in general, makes me not a very good customer for betfair, other betting exchanges or you all. Nonetheless, I have sort of an academic interest in betting exchanges, systems, and bots in particular. So, I hope I am welcome to post here. I have a hunch that punters who play systems, especially during in-play situations, might want to have a bot tool to help with decision making, monitoring situations and placing bets. An added benefit would be that bots are "emotion free" so that if you had a bot making the bets on your behalf, especially once the event goes in-running, then you would not be tempted to change your strategy. Or, do you think you still need to have a major role in the decision making process, so you would not like such a bot. Or, instead of having the bot make the bet for you, would it be better if it simply prompted you of the current situation? My point is if you really do have a winning system, you could play many more events simultaneously without even viewing the event. OK, maybe that takes the "fun" out of it.... I know that betfair has explicitly disallowed the use of bots, however, I don't think simple systems would cause the problems which they described (i.e. too many hits on their database which caused crashes, due to arbs and taking advantage of spreads). Those of you who would like to use accumulators and parlays or other exotic betting situations and/or systems in betting exchanges, do you think a bot could potentially help you to test your systems?

Re: in-play system bots in betting exchanges I'd love a bot that I could program with my bets, and it then went around on the net, comparing prices and doing all the tedious work. I'd actually love a bot to do all my betting practicalities. The only fun part is the actual decisions involved in betting, the comparing of odds, placing the bets etc. is very boring (and time-consuming if you, like me, place a lot of bets). A 100% customisable bot with access to all the reliable bookmakers would be a dream come through, both for ordinary betting and for live betting. I find it very unsociable and boring sitting in front of the computer doing live bets, sure it's exciting but it's way better watching the game with your friends in a pub, than sitting at home like a geek punching numbers. ;)
