No not a homoerotic note from moi to the maintainer of the fabulous Football Data site but a heartfelt recommendation from Paul Steele for the site in his new book "Profitable Football Betting". I was wading my way through this great book when on page 398 (in the "Information Gathering" chapter) he mentions the Football-Data site. He starts by saying "THIS IS INCLUDED FOR ITS SHEER BRILLIANCE" before going on to call it a "GODSEND" and a "WONDERFUL SITE THAT COULD SAVE YOU MANY HUNDREDS OF HOURS". I'd go on quoting but I'm afraid to give Joe a swelled head. Get the book and see for yourself! As an aside I'm reading the book at the moment to try and give some sort of review for the PL but my first impression (not having read his previous book) is that this is a book that any serious football punter should have. It's pricey, heavy and hard (literally) to read but any book that has the good sense to give the Football Data site the endorsement it deserves is of to a good start anyway!
