Paul Steele Shall Know my Velocity? Can any man love two mistresses? Quite possible in real life but in gambling those who know say that generally specialization probably increases your chances of making a profit (or minimizing your losses). I’ve been running a tennis thread for the last 3 months in the football off season. In terms of gambling it has been very very enjoyable although my early season good form has slumped badly in the last month :o . Hopefully its just a bad patch and I can pull up towards profitability. Work commitments have kept me from it for the last while (maybe this is a good thing mind! :lol ) but hopefully this weekend I can start again in a more meaningful way. Have finally after 5 months got a TV in my house this week, hooked up to M-Net West Africa (EPL, Nationwide, Bundesliga and maybe La Liga ) so have emerged from the football shell to try and finish ahead in what I would consider the hardest sport in which to beat the bookies. I ran a short lived thread last year based on systems derived from the excellent Paul Steele Book “Profitable Football Bettingâ€. I showed a very small profit after about 30 bets but had to give it up due to absence from an internet connection. Some Loungers are familiar with the book but the jury is I know very much out on it. He made according to the book a significant profit over the season using it but I’m not sure if his methodologies have been put to any sort of significant test so I’m going to give it a whirl over the full season. I’m not going to go into the ins and outs of his system but it’s a pretty mechanical one that filters out games using three selection criteria and then applies a qualitative analysis to those matches to further filter them. In other words if the three mechanical criteria say Man Utd will best Bolton work will still have to be done in terms of team news etc. I’m going to make a major departure from his system (which was based on various perms of multiples). Figuring that the slow grinding war of attrition is the best (just finishing a book on the Spartan military machine) I’ll be going singles only on the 4 English Divisions with possibly later Seria A and La Liga. Am expecting to generate between 8 and 12 best in a full weeks calendar of UK fixtures nad hoping to get maybe 400 - 450 bets in teh season in England. Will start the system 6 games into the new season. Criteria are Start Bank 100 Units Stakeing 2 Units (either per single bet or for weighted bets) Bet Type – Weighted 1/X or X/2 when the combined odds are > 1.8 or Lays of Homes / Aways on Betfair where odds > 1.8 Finally although I’ll be running this as a solo effort the worksheet I am using was designed in the main with two other Loungers who with their input and work really turned my puny effort into something a lot leaner , meaner and more efficient. They’ll be doing something similar I know and we will be doing a “full on†trial using multiples during the year. All and every fcuk ups on this thread are mine as the books usually say. And Paul Steele……Hopefully he’ll know my velocity more than the ATP tennis Tour so far!
