nish_76
I frequently bet on betfair. I need help if someone has a formula on how to hedge on a single bet. I want to hedge on Back odds to be lower and hedge against higher Lay odds OR bet on higher Lay odds and hedge it when the Back odds are lower or drops. I tried various calculations but I keep on getting loss outcome. Can anyone help me on this or has anyone got a formula to bet on low Back against high Lay. Datapunter
Re: Back/Lay System help You can only make profit if the back odds become HIGHER than the Lay odds. You sure you haven't got it the wrong way around ?

Datapunter
Re: Back/Lay System help If by low and high you mean the odds then, low back + high lay = loss that simple.

stewartd14
Re: Back/Lay System help Let me try and outline why you keep getting a loss: If you place £10 @ odds of 3.0 - Profit of £20 if wins If you then lay £10 @ odds of 5.0 - loss of £40 if wins This means if it wins, you lose £20 and if it gets beat you break even. So it is impossible to back at low odds and lay when the odds get bigger to make a profit. :ok
