3.00 Newton Abbott Shanahan Back to the course, distance and grade he last won in. T J Murphy has decent record for this trainer and its his only ride of the day. He is little better than a seller but this wont take much winning. A sporting bet at a big price.

Re: Newton Abbott 30/08 3.00 SHANAHAN This horse looked as if he could be a good purchase when Phillip Hobbs brought him over from Ireland but he hasnt quite progressed. He has run well in some good handicaps though, and hopefully the change of scenery will do him good. Now with L Corcoran, he drops down to a lowly claimer which he should be able to take as he is a long way above the level needed to win it. Lat time he run in a claimer he duly obliged and today he has the assistance of Timmy Murphy, which could be a big positive considering the horse has quirks. All in all, he looks a cracking EW bet.
