TRENDS/PATTERNS ETC.

Having become very pis**d off recently not betting on various trends/patterns etc that i happen to notice and think may be worth a bet (see Northampton v Swansea Thread), i don't bet on them and then think If Only as a few i seem to remember have been decent. Trends and Patterns i seem to look at are things such as; 'not won at Goodison Park since 1762', 'Owen scored in 5 of last 6 v York City', even stats about certain refs or changing rooms (milennium stadium etc) or simply, a re-occurence of a scoreline in a particualr fixture. Before i get shouted at and called a loser, I know that i probably only notice the trends/patterns when they actually come true and I'm failing to take notice of the thousands of losing patterns/trends which i could potentially back. Nevertheless, i'd like to find out and i hope nobody minds if i write about it here. You never know, It could be worthwhile. :rolleyes So, I'm going to have a quick skeggy at Every Premiership game this weekend and tailor my bets around the best/most appealing trends/patterns i find and keep a record of the winnings/losses. I'm going to try to keep the form book out of it as i've often been put off backing teams after spotting trends/patterns by simply thinking theres no way it'll happen! I'm not sure if something of this nature has been done before and apologise if you already know that i'm wasting my time. So this week, I was flicking through 'The Game' on Monday and noticed two pieces of Info. 1. Wolves hadn't had a win at Goodison since 1979 2. Portsmouth haven't beaten Fulham since 1985. I've tried to look at the head-to-heads here but soccerbase.com is down at the mo. But, on this evidence, a 'two teams not to lose' may be a bet. £10 returns £13.06. Not a lot but hey, I gotta start somewhere! If anyone else knows of any similar trends/patterns etc, stick em on here as i'm going to be doing all my weekend bets from this thread. Cheers.

Re: TRENDS/PATTERNS ETC. Yeb, Not a bad idea. Some of your research may be done for you in the Racing Post on Fri & Sat where they have a small column in the back pages (footie section) that's called something like 'Jonahs' - somebody else can set me straight here coz I don't have a RP beside me. But they list about ten teams that have long winning sequences against other teams in forthcoming matches. I use it to strike possible bets off my list. No point in going up against proven history.
