Using the data I maintain to allow Paul Steele's system to operate I have started to look at the under/over market. I am happy with the general range of predicted numbers that are coming out. For example tonights 5 Nationwide games have expectations from 2.17 to 2.92 so there doesn't seem to be any daft predictions, yet :D I will send more details if anyone is interested but essentially it is as follows. Each side creates an number of opportunites in a game, these come from shots and corners. They then score a number of goals from these opportunities. This produces a goals per opporunity figure. Similarly a side will concede opportunities and goals. For any given game taking the home opportunity to score, and the away opportunity to concede will produce an expected home goal figure. Similarly with away goals I will start with a bank of 100, and will have a 2 unit bet on each selection.
