Swings on Boss Media Platforms

Im having a terrible time of it over on Pokerkings, everytime im ahead and making great plays im being shafted by the software and beaten by idiots who are either pushing or calling when behind. I feel im playing good poker but getting no luck whatsoever. So.....i went to (unofficially) finish my STT set off by playing on Virgin and Paradise Poker in order to test the waters so to speak. Well i won 3 in a row......2 on Virgin and 1 on Paradise by playing the same poker I always do. I just dont get it........:wall Sharkscope Stats

Re: Swings on Boss Media Platforms I've suffered some real sick badbeats over the last 30 hours. To the extent that my bankroll I had built up, I have just withdrawn all bar €55 of it, which I have left in for the league games this month. Thought I had solved my confidence issue I spoke about in my thread, but I have come 3rd in 6 of my last 8 5-man STTs, and on 5 of those occasions have been rivered by either 5%, 7% or 14% chances. And I have had enough. I've worked hard over the last 4/5 weeks and made some nice profit, and I want to use it on some things I will enjoy, rather than give it all to some donks who beat my flopped straights by hitting runner-runner flushes!!

for a start i would discount the paradise results as 12 games is not really a fair reflection,nice run tho:ok obviously thats a pretty awful run on pks but in 60 games it can be easy to go on a bad run. bth i'm a little suprised by your stats on virgin:loon 300 odd games is gonna be a much fairer reflection of your stt play and your just better than breaking even:\ your overall total is coming up around the same as well as your -$16 overall. i would have thought you would have much better stats than that. maybe you need to rethink your current stt strategy,could be your playing a little too aggressive maybe:unsure

So I have a nice pot of cash coming for me to enjoy, and I will start again from €55 like I did the first time

Re: Swings on Boss Media Platforms I think most people seriously underestimate how much random fluctuation there can be, even over hundreds of STTs. The standard deviation of your ROI (roughly, the "typical" amount it will vary just from random fluctuations), is around 9% over 326 games. In other words, it wouldn't be at all unusual for a +10% player (or a -8% player) to be +1% over a particular run of 326 games. It wouldn't even be particularly shocking for a +20% player.

Re: Swings on Boss Media Platforms Surely the games that you have been playing (stt's) are the same games on any Boss platform i.e. just different skins of the same games. It doesn't matter which skin you are using, the result will be the same?? Or have I misunderstood?:unsure

I haven't dared to look but I have the same feeling about Virgin. One cash in v points in all of the time I played there. Never any decent tourney wins apart from a V festival freeroll if that counts. All manner of horrendous beats after being a crushing favourite.
