HRB Ratings System - Not exactly taking off just yet...

Something a bit different for me but after flailing around trying to make something good from all the data available to me at horseracebase I stumbled on what could be called a missing ingredient totally by accident. While reading one of a number of random betting blogs I read that taking into account last race rating was equally/if not more important than the current as far as this data is concerned. So having done all that I was amazed to see that a historical s/r where I hadn't been able to get above the high 20's % wise had all of a sudden shot up to mid 30's. With a bit of tinkering here and a bit of tinkering there i've managed to get it above 40%. And the good bit, starting with a £100.00 bank just 3 years ago and wagering 5% on each horse would have returned over £3,000 to SP. Not even betfair SP!!:loon Criteria is simple: Top race rated for previous race Top speed estimate for current race top 1 & 2 Jockey rating All this can be checked out on the www.horseracebase.com website which I have already been given permission to link to. Now watch me crash and burn:lol
